William V. Krug

William V. Krug, 79, passed away suddenly at his home on April 17, 2025. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Vincent and Eileen Krug (née Lambrecht). Bill attended Cleveland Heights High School and went on to study at Case Western Reserve University. He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Following his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, he began a long and respected career in dermatology. He practiced first at Euclid Clinic, later with University Dermatologists, and eventually retired from Allied Dermatology in 2019. Bill was a curious and determined problem-solver at heart. He took great pride in tackling challenges, whether it was diagnosing a patient’s condition, getting a car motor running just right, or choosing the perfect varnish for a piece of woodworking. His thoughtful approach and hands-on spirit were hallmarks of both his professional life and his many hobbies. Bill spent the joyful days of his youth sailing the waters of Lake Erie alongside his family. He cherished his time at the Mentor Harbor Yachting Club, where he remained a dedicated member throughout his life. Thoughtful, compassionate, and witty, Bill was a man of few words - but when he spoke, people listened. A true gentleman, he possessed an unwavering sense of right and wrong and a steadfast determination to see things done correctly. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Bill’s guidance, assistance, and concern were always available at a moment’s notice. His presence was a steadying force, and his legacy of kindness and integrity will continue to inspire those who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shelley Krug (née Osborne); children, William V. Krug Jr., Matthew J. (Tira Stebbins) Krug and Lauren K. (Zachary) Guren; grandchildren, Nancy Krug, William Krug, Kimberley Krug, Christine Krug, Miles Guren and Josephine Guren; siblings, Denise (Kenneth) Resar and Carol (Robert) Love; sister-in-law, Constance Krug; brothers-in-law, F.M. Osborne “Skip” and Michael (Nancy) Osborne; sisters-in-law, Georgeanne (Gary) Gorman and Jackie Osborne and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Preceding William in death are his parents and step-father, Denny Marks; first wife, Kimberley Krug; brother, Kenneth Krug and brothers-in-law, Jerome (Maureen) Osborne, Richard Osborne and Gregory Osborne. Family and friends are invited to share stories and celebrate Bill’s life on Thursday, April 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Mentor Harbor Yachting Club, located at 5330 Coronada Drive, Mentor, OH 44060.
