Edward Nageotte Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edward (Ed, Eddie) Nageotte, age 95, of Cleveland, OH, passed away on December 28th, 2021 at University Hospital Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, OH. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, on February 24th, 1926, Ed, as his friends and family called him, led a life full of hard work and much love. Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII as a cook for hundreds of his fellow troops in Europe. The skills and dedication he learned while serving in the Army led him to work as a chef and baker at the Hotel Cleveland, and later a baker and cake decorator. Later on, Ed worked in real estate, and finally, for the IRS. Ed was a proud Mason for over 45 years. Ed thoroughly enjoyed attending his Mason meetings and events and keeping up with his many friends in the multiple Mason bodies where he was a member. Through the years, Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He was a voracious reader, consuming any and every reading material within reach—sometimes reading two books in one day. But undoubtedly, Ed’s greatest achievement in life, and that for which he was most proud, was the family and life he built with his beloved wife of 73 years, Lois. Sharing two beloved daughters together, Barbara and Jean, they created a world of laughter, love, and celebration. Together with Lois, they camped at their trailer in Spencer, OH almost every weekend of each summer for almost 40 years and visited Kelleys Island, OH with several generations of family every August. Friends and family were always abundant for Ed and Lois—they brought such joy to everyone who were lucky enough to know them. Their family is grateful they are now reunited for eternity. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nageotte on October 3, 2021; his parents, Louis and Alice Nageotte; brothers, Clarence and Louis; and a sister, Delores Schnear. Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Dale) Glick and Jean (Bruce) Johnson; grandchildren, Sarah (Gary) Bauman, Chana (Ron) Johnson, Becky (Matt) Manter, Katie (Jason) Taylor, Christy Glick, and Carrie (Mike) Majewski; and his great-grandchildren, Nick, Nina, and Nadia Bauman, Cassidy and Zach Johnson, Seth and Pierce Manter, Bella and Abby Taylor, and Jane Majewski.
