George Metz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Metz, age 98 of Palm Harbor, FL formerly of Chardon, OH, passed away August 8, 2021. He was born May 9, 1923 in Gates, PA to the late William and Anna Misovich. A U.S. Army veteran of WW2, he landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy on D Day. He was very proud to serve his country. George was a successful business owner for over 50 years. He helped hundreds of people financially, emotionally & spiritually. He was a mentor & teacher to many. He along with his wife, Lillian provided a safe & loving home for their special needs daughter, Sandra for 47 years who is now with the Lord. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Lillian (Hartwich); sons, Dennis (Mary) Metz and Bryan (Lois) Metz; grandchildren, Jennifer Perry (partner Sam Shapiro), Amanda (Mike) Worst, Rachel (Adam) Continenza and Tiffany (Chris) Williams; great-grandchildren, William, Emily, Ava, Leo, Mae, Paxson, Ada and Archer. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Metz. A private memorial mass will be held at a later date in Florida. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
