June 28, 1937 - January 4, 2022
Glenn J. “Bud” Meyer, 84, of Concord Twp., died January 4, 2022 at Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born June 28, 1937 in Cleveland to the late Louis and Florence Meyer. A U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country, Glenn grew up in Collinwood where he met many lifelong friends. In his early years, he attended St. Jerome’s and spent his summers at Euclid Beach Park. Glenn graduated from Collinwood High School and then went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army as a Medic. Glenn spent his career as a Cleveland Firefighter and on his days off, he piloted airplanes for private companies. Glenn was an avid golfer and enjoyed many years visiting Myrtle Beach golf courses. While his body may have failed him and he has rounded his last fairway and green, Glenn is now at peace and reunited with old friends and family at the 19th hole in the sky. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Meyer; daughter, Laura (James) Carrabine; step children, Denise (Scott) Taylor, Susan (Robert) Gabanic and James (Shannon) Bernosky; grandchildren, Christin Carrabine, Jaime (Tim) Hurlbut, Nick (Marcie) Carrabine, Rachael Weber, Gabrielle Gabanic, Genna Gabanic, Jacob Gabanic, Jimmy Bernosky and Allie Bernosky; great grandchildren, Riley, Rylan, Greyson, Hudson, Harlow and Vanessa; sister, Nancy (Donald) Vaccariello; brother, Gordon Meyer; many nieces and nephews and his constant companion Lola. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Meyer. A celebration of life in Glenn’s honor will be held at a later date.
