Kevin Masterson

Kevin Masterson age 61, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his home in Painesville . Kevin was born June 12, 1954 to the late Philip and Dorothy, where he was a lifelong resident of Lake County. He grew up in Mentor and graduated from the Mentor High School Class of 1972. Kevin was a talented and gifted tradesman in the tool and die industry- He was a hobbyist who loved to play electric guitar, build remote control boats and go-karts and anything with a motor that would go fast! Kevin was mechanically gifted and could fix anything. He was a tool and die machinist most recently working for Sutterlin & Sons Machine in Mentor. Kevin was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years- He so loved the program that even in death he hoped that his dying would be able to help someone else suffering from this insidious disease. Through Kevin’s journey, he met his lifelong friend and sponsor, Ron- Kevin’s friendship with Ron spanned many years and as a result brought Kevin to a place in life where he recently told his family “This is the happiest I have ever been”. The family thanks Ron, a friend and a deacon with St. John Baptist Church in Painesville. Ron will officiate a service honoring Kevin’s life at 8:30 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH., where the visitation will be held 5:30-8:30 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He is survived by his children: Sean (Brandee) Masterson of Painesville , Christine Masterson of Spokane, WA, Kevin (Ashley) Masterson of N.C., Bryan (Sydney English) Masterson of Painesville, his sister, Kathy ” Kate” ( Dan Jr.) Snyder of Mentor, Grandchildren: Blake, Sean, Toree, Lula, Raven, Dottie, Aiden and Torin. Niece: Allyson Snyder and Nephew: Danny Snyder, Uncle Marv and Aunt June Bollinger and close cousins and his faithful companion, Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents: Philip and Dorothy “Dottie” Masterson. Kevin will be laid to rest in the family grave in Mentor cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory of Kevin Masterson to Kate Snyder, c/o 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor, OH. 44060.
