May 31, 1944 - October 1, 2021
Mary Jo McNulty, 77, of Kirtland Hills, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. She was born on May 31, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Mary Jo graduated from St. Benedictine High School in Detroit, Michigan and later went on to attend Western Michigan University. While at Western Michigan, she met and married her loving husband James of nearly 57 years. Mary Jo dedicated her life to raising her three sons and enjoyed watching their family’s grow. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She was a devout Catholic, a dedicated and loyal Cleveland Browns fan (season ticket holder for over 40 years), an avid Ohio State Buckeye supporter, and a Lake Catholic Cougar fan through and through. In her leisure time she enjoyed being with her many friends, shopping, movies, traveling, playing bridge, listening to music, Broadway shows, playing keno at the casino, and spoiling her three sons and all of her grandchildren. It’s impossible to express her passion for life and her enormous generosity towards the many people and organizations she touched. Mary Jo was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be missed dearly by all, but we find comfort in knowing she is at peace in heaven with her family and friends. Mary Jo is survived by her loving and devoted husband, James E McNulty; children, James J. (Suzanne) McNulty, Stephen A. (Karen) McNulty, and Daniel C. (Carrie) McNulty; grandchildren, Brandon (Skylar) McNulty, Kelly McNulty, Andrew McNulty, Amanda McNulty, Sydney (Shaw) McNulty Camp, Kyle McNulty, Megan McNulty, Brody McNulty, Morgan McNulty, and Colton McNulty. She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Mary C. Helenhouse; brother, John “Jackie” Helenhouse; and her grandson, Addison James “AJ” McNulty. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in celebration of Mary Jo’s life at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060 (Please meet at the church.) Private family entombment will be held in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lake Catholic High School Athletic Department, Mentor, OH or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements entrusted to the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Please offer condolences at www.brunners.com.
