Ann J. Waters

Ann J. Waters, 87, a longtime Lake County, Ohio resident, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at The Preserve Senior Living at Mentor Ridge in Mentor, Ohio. Ann suffered from and succumbed to her dementia. She was born on March 13, 1938, in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late James and Carla Neylon. She was a Euclid High School graduate. Ann and her husband Joe owned and operated the Mulberry Bush in Perry, Ohio for many years. She truly loved helping others make their homes beautiful and forged everlasting friendships with each and every one of them. She loved them all and truly enjoyed when everyone was all together. Nothing made Ann happier than being the host. She loved to entertain with an elaborate menu and decor or simply with a homemade bowl of soup and freshly made bread. No matter the menu, she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing and spending time together with the ones she loved. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, bird watching, reading, traveling, sailing, golfing and the warmth of a sunny day. She was intelligent, feisty, quick-witted and set high standards for everyone. She will be truly missed beyond measure. Even though she is gone, her impact on our lives will remain with us forever. Survivors include her daughter, Constance Brodack; grandchildren, Johnathon Brodack and Jason and Caitlin Waters; great grandchild, Elizabeth; brothers, Eric (Kathy) Neylon and Bruce (Myra) Neylon; brother-in-law, Eugene Gazda; and her dear friend and longtime caregiver, Debora Quirk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Waters; son, Gregory Waters; granddaughter, Catherine Brodack; her brother, Christopher Neylon; and her sisters, Jean Neylon and Lynn Gazda. Public graveside services will be held in the Springtime of 2026 at the Mentor Cemetery. We are forever grateful for the compassionate and loving care Ann received from the kind and devoted caregivers at The Preserve at Mentor Ridge and Hospice of the Western Reserve Navigation Team.
