Frederick E. "Fred" Zupancic

Frederick E. “Fred” Zupancic, age 83, of Willoughby Hills, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH. He was born May 14, 1939, in Cleveland, OH. Fred graduated from Collinwood High School and served in the U.S. Army. In 1981 Fred founded Quad Industries Incorporated where he worked for the duration of his life. Fred valued building personal relationships and his handshake was his contract. Everyone who knew Fred, knew him as a thoughtful and generous person. Fred had a gift for making every friend and family member feel like the most important person in his life. He took the time to know the interests of each individual person and he devoted much of his time and energy actively supporting and encouraging those interests, whether it was through good conversation or seeking out just the right little gift. Fred had a vast wealth of knowledge that he would share to help with any project or endeavor. Most of all Fred enjoyed spending time with his family. Fred enjoyed walking in the park, cooking, and creating beautiful gardens in his yard. He was a lifetime appreciator of art and loved going to art shows, antique shops, and flea markets. Fred loved Lake Erie and spent his last few days reminiscing about his time spent on its shores. Survivors include his children: Frederick J. (Michelle) Zupancic, William (Judy Mindzora) Zupancic and Jodi (Joe) Maczuzak; grandchildren: Zachary and Benjamin Zupancic, Shaun Price, Chelsey Chapman, Tori (Alex) Barbian, Olivia and Brooklyn Zupancic, Jake and Mia Maczuzak; great-grandchildren, Aubrielle, Trey, Ryan and Alex Jr., and former wife and eternal friend Barbara Zupancic. Preceding Fred in death are his parents, Ferdinand and Mary Zupancic. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor, OH. 44060. A funeral mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at St. Noel Parish, 35200 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Please meet at the church. Fred’s wish is for everyone to dress casually and comfortably for all proceedings. Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH.
