Jerome "Jerry" Ralph Brys

Jerome “Jerry” Ralph Brys, passed away at the age of 90 on Friday, May 26, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was born September 18, 1932 in Cleveland. Throughout his life, Jerome had many loves and passions. At the top of his list was his wife of 67 years, Alise, who very recently passed away on May 6. The pair raised five children and enjoyed life as a large family. Jerome loved Cleveland sports and always had to have the game on or know the score to the game being played that day. He was a huge lottery fanatic and made sure to play his numbers every day, if not sometimes twice a day! He worked at Lincoln Electric as a machinist for 42 years until he retired. He loved to golf, especially with his children, and even got part-time positions as a ranger at Fowler’s Mill and Quail Hollow golf courses after retirement to be close to the sport he loved. He had the kindest heart and the biggest smile. He will be truly missed by so many. Survivors include his five children: David Brys, Donald Brys, Douglas (Connie) Brys, Dawn (Michael) Bowen and Debra (Anthony) Romano; his grandchildren: Allison (Nick) Pawlikowski, Samantha (Scott) Bossert, Leah (Kevin) Speakman, Brianna Brys, Bradley (Joe McMichael) Brys, Shannon (Adam) Yee, Daniel (Michelle) Brys, Molly (Thomas) Miller, Lauren Bowen, Connor (Rachel) Bowen and Perin Romano; and his great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Levi, Julian, Kobe, Rosalyn, Isabelle, Grayson, Jack and Savannah. Preceding Jerome in death are his dear wife of 67 years, Alise, his parents: Vincent Brys and Sophia Szczygiel, and siblings: Edward (Natalia), Anthony (Irene), Joseph (Sylvia), Vincent (Grace), Bernard (Helen), Agnes (Henry), Raymond, Chester (Florence), Andrew, Cecelia and Francis A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
