Judge Ted R. Klammer

Judge Ted R. Klammer, 66, of Concord Township, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his residence. Born May 10, 1946, in Slovenia, he was a longtime Lake County resident. Judge Ted Klammer was a loving and devoted husband, son, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He was very dedicated to the Lake County community and was a kind and generous person. As a graduate of Cleveland Marshall College of Law, he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1970. During his 32 years in the private practice of law, Judge Klammer held a number of public positions, including serving as an assistant Lake County prosecutor and for decades as the law director for City of Eastlake. Judge Klammer served on various charitable and volunteer organizations including as chairman and hospital trustee of Lake Regional Health Care Corp., as a member of the Lake Metroparks Board of Commissioners, and member of United Way of Lake County. He was so very proud of his positions with the City of Eastlake and the Lake Metroparks. He was a past president of Lake County Bar Association. Judge Klammer had served as the Lake County Probate Court Judge since 2003. Like his commitment to his clients before being elected judge, he had an unyielding commitment to those who came before the Court. In fact, he and the Court received national recognition from the American Bar Association and Judge Klammer was recently awarded the "Independent Living Award" by the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging. Survivors are his wife, Betty Mae Klammer, whom he was married to for 42 years; children, Joseph "Randy" (Darya) Klammer of Mentor and Lisa Klammer of Concord Township; and his grandchildren, Mason and Cordelia. He is also survived by his mother, Antonia Klammer. He was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Klammer; and his infant sister, Antonia. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday March 18, 2013 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. (Please meet at the church.) The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Private family entombment will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass on Monday at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
