Lora L. Hamilton

Lora L. Hamilton, age 53, of Concord Twp., passed Monday, May 30, 2022 at UH TriPoint Medical Center, Concord Twp. She was born June 19, 1968 in Cleveland, OH. Ms. Hamilton worked in the automotive industry for over two decades in all areas from sales to finance. She was most proud of the work she did at WHI Solutions selling and marketing software that was innovative and one of a kind. Through this company, she achieved professional success and some of the best friendships. Lora was a lifelong fan of music. Her list of favorite bands and musicians is too numerous to count. She was a lifelong fan of The Grateful Dead. Lora had one of the most beautiful voices in the world. She was proud that she was a “coloratura soprano”. She loved singing karaoke or in the house just for fun. One of her favorite hobbies was shopping. She had this amazing talent of going into any store and picking out the most flattering, name brand outfit for a fraction of the price. It may have taken her 3 hours, but if she was on a mission she would complete it. To her family and friends, she lit up a room. She had this sense of humor that was her own unique brand. She always knew how to make people laugh. Lora always had the best stories and advice. She was always trying to help people realize and achieve their potential. She always saw the good in everyone and tried to help them see it for themselves. Lora enjoyed being outdoors. She liked going on walks around Lake County, especially on the beaches. She enjoyed visiting relatives in West Virginia and exploring the mountains. She cherished the time she spent with her dogs. Over the last few years, she helped birth four litters of Shih Tzu puppies. She regarded herself as a “dog doula” and loved every minute of it. The light of her life was her daughter, Taylor. She was so proud of her and the woman she became. She never missed an opportunity to talk about her and her latest endeavor. Lora was active in Taylor’s elementary school through the PTA at St. Gabriel and Girl Scouts. She supported her in high school through Lake Catholic Band Boosters. She was proud of Taylor’s career success and was always available to offer advice or even just to listen after a hard day. She inspired Taylor. One thing she loved to do was read anything Taylor wrote for school, even reading them to her partner, Joe. She encouraged Taylor to always be herself because life was too short to be anything but. She had a special relationship with her aunt “Rene” Friel. Rene was wonderful to Lora and was always willing to be there for her. Surviving Lora are her daughter Taylor (Zak Hilliard) Hamilton; father James C. Hamilton; siblings: Luci (Robert) Beattie and John (Meghan) Hamilton; nieces and nephews: Brian and Lauren Beattie, Timothy Varley and Camden and Ada Hamilton; great-nephew, Vincent Varley; loving partner, Joe Cominsky and furry friend, Waylon; and numerous family and friends that will cherish her memory. Preceding Lora in death are her mother, Elizabeth Hamilton and furry friend, Ruby. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
