Michael J. Lipphardt

Michael J. Lipphardt, age 65, of Painesville Twp., passed away suddenly on January 18, 2022. He was born December 14, 1956 in Cleveland, OH to the late Harold and Harriet (Kerr) Lipphardt. Mike was an amazing husband and dedicated father. He worked as an electrical engineer for over 40 years. His love for electronics and computers started at Cuyahoga Heights High School. He loved tinkering, reading weird science fiction, Star Trek, photography, driving stick shift cars, watching bad movies and most of all spending time with his family. Gathering together at a Lipphardt Christmas was his favorite family time. Mike loved kids and volunteered as a bowling coach with St. Gabriel youth group activities and tutored at the Salvation Army after school program. He wanted to make a difference in this world. His kind heart touched the lives of many. Mike was a kidney transplant survivor of 35 years thanks to a generous gift from his beloved brother Earl. He was a recent cancer survivor and persevered through life changing surgery. Mike kept his sense of humor through good times and bad. He will be missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Linda (Walczak) and daughter, Jackie Lipphardt. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Marie Lipphardt and Dreama Lipphardt. He is further survived by his beloved nieces and nephews; Sue, Bruce Jr., Sally, Sandy; Karen (deceased), Sharon, Earl Jr; Dana, Kristie, Kelley, Crystal, and Christopher. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bruce Lipphardt, Earl Lipphardt, Chad Lipphardt and sister Nancy Ressler. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Concord Twp., OH 44060. Please meet at the church. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. The family asks that masks be worn. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
