Robert "Bob" N. Jones

Robert “Bob” N. Jones passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on December 30, 2019 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on May 9, 1934 in Elkins, West Virginia to the late Grover “Casey” and Anna Grace (Kittle) Jones. As a young man, he left Elkins and moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he met the love of his life, Mildred. In 1954 Bob and Mildred married, and later moved to Mentor, Ohio where they have resided for the past 60 years. In 1991, Bob retired after more than 30 years from General Electric. Throughout his life he had a passion for swimming and traveling. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed golfing, shuffleboard, and listening to country and gospel music. He spent his winters in Florida with his wife relaxing by the pool and making many new friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and doting on his “grandbabies”. Bob will be forever remembered and cherished for his kind heart and immense love for his family and the Lord. His legacy will be the strength, courage, love and the values he passed down to his family. He was a long-standing, respected member of Willo-Hill Baptist Church, and had unwavering faith and love for his savior, Jesus Christ. He endeavored to live his life as an example of God’s love and grace. He especially liked the book of Romans and lived his life by the verses within. His greatest hope was for his loved ones to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Romans 14:7-9 “For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.” Bob was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. He is survived by Mildred F. (Brandt), his wife of 65 years, his children - Bob (Helen) Jones, Doug (Jackie) Jones, Cathy (Bill) Boehm and Andy (Tina) Jones, his grandchildren - Kristy (Craig) Winkleman, Casey Jones, Josh (Megan) Jones, Jason (Mari) Jones, Misty (Michael) Arnett, Erica Hashier, Benjamin Boehm, and Ashley Jones, his 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bob’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Hospice of the Western Reserve for their grace and care of Bob in his final days. Family will receive friends Friday, January 3, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio 44060 A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Willo-Hill Baptist Church, 4200 State Route 306, Willoughby, Ohio 44094. Pastor Dave Hackney will officiate. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve P.O.
