Shirley (Usoff) Murnyack, 92, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic- Mentor Hospital, Mentor, OH. She was born on March 26, 1933, in Franklin, PA. The daughter of George “Grigory” and Maude “Matrena” Usoff, immigrants from Svyatsk Posad, Russia. Shirley was born March 26, 1933, in Franklin, PA and lived there throughout her childhood. She married her husband, Robert “Bob” Murnyack in April 1952. Mrs. Murnyack was the office manager for her husband ‘Bob’s Grinding and raised 8 children. As a young woman, Shirley loved to dance and play music. She played both the accordion and piano and carried her passion for music well into her adult life. Shirley also loved to travel with some of her favorite locations being Russia and Tulsa, Shirley enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including card games, dancing, golf, genealogy, and painting. You could find her playing Pinochle with her family or expressing herself through her many paintings. One of her greatest joys was reading the Bible, and Shirley always trusted in her faith. She belonged to the Pentecostal denomination. Her relationship with the Lord has guided her through every stage of her life. Shirley is grateful to be reunited with her husband and Jesus Christ in heaven. Survivors include her children: Rob M. (Mary Ann) Murnyack Jr., Jim (Nancy) Murnyack, Dennis Murnyack, Patrick (Matt Krasicki) Murnyack, Bonnie (Chris) Gallagher, Sharlene (Ken) Porz, and Deanna (Jerry Urick) Welch and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Murnyack; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding Shirley in death are her husband of 53 years, Robert M. Murnyack; son, Tom Murnyack; grandson, Dennis Murnyack; parents, George and Maude Usoff; and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
