Sidney A. Stacy Jr.

Sidney A. Stacy Jr., 72, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away February 15, 2025 at Orlando Sebastian River Hospital, Sebastian, Florida. He was born February 28, 1952 in McMinnville, TN to the late Sidney Stacy Sr. and Anna Mae Stacy. Sidney served in the United States Air Force and worked as a psychiatric medic during his enlistment. Upon discharge of the Air Force he worked at Kroger’s while attending Lakeland Community College, where he graduated with his Associates of Business. He then attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas, where he received his Bachelors in Business. He worked at Diamond Shamrock in sales and was transferred to Texas in 1979. Upon leaving Diamond Shamrock he went to General Electric for sales. Upon leaving General Electric he went on to become a store manager at Kroger’s in Tennessee, where he eventually retired. He was also the Chaplain to the Gunny Hall for the United States Marines. He always enjoyed watching his kids in their sports activities when they were younger, and into their high school days. He and his son, Shane, built a junior drag car that Shane would race every weekend, with his dad by his side. In the summertime you could always find him on the lake in Tennessee with his best friend and soul mate, Kris, fishing away. Sidney always enjoyed his sleepovers with his grandkids, and enjoyed being their papa. He loved NASCAR, and attending car shows. In 2020 He and Kris picked up and moved to Florida to live as gypsies and just enjoy life. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and fishing on their boat. He didn’t have a care in the world as long as he was doing what he loved. Survivors include his wife, Kristin “Kris” Stacy; children Shannon (Rick) Huffman, Shane (Shannon) Stacy, Jeff (Liz) Gatlin and Jon (Tammy) Dor; grandchildren, Samantha (AJ) Fisher, Taylor (fiancé, Nate Miller) Huffman, Joshua (fiancée, Makayla Drugatz) Huffman, Mikayla Stacy, McKenzie Stacy, Maddison Stacy, Gabrielle (fiancé, Brett Ahlf) Rocha, Brendan Gatlin, and Hayden Dor; great grandchildren, Ellorie, Harlan, Lorelai, and Theia; siblings, Faye (Larry) Harpster, Bill (Edie) Stacy, Karen Stacy and Daryl Stacy; dog, Little Benny the Jet, and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060. A funeral service to conclude the gathering will begin 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Mentor Cemetery. Please meet at the grave.
