Suellen J. Springer, age 85 of Mentor, OH, passed away on October 15, 2025 at Mentor Hills Post Acute Care, Mentor, OH. She was born on March 12, 1940 in Johnstown, PA. Suellen (Sue) was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend to many. She was married for 59 years to her late husband, Francis. Together, they built a life full of warmth, laughter, and devotion to family, friends, and faith. A woman of many talents, Suellen was known for her beautiful cake baking and decorating skills, bringing joy and sweetness to countless celebrations. She worked for 20 years as a compassionate private duty nurse, offering comfort and care to terminally ill patients. A dedicated homemaker, Suellen poured her heart into making her home a place of love and hospitality, especially during the holidays. She was also a seamstress, enjoyed ceramics, and playing the piano. Many joyful hours were also spent around the table with family and friends, playing a variety of card games; her favorite was hand and foot. A faithful Christian, Suellen’s life was a reflection of her deep and abiding faith. She was a devoted member of her church and gave generously of her time through the Willing Workers Club, always willing to lend a helping hand where it was needed most. Every year, Suellen looked forward to vacationing with friends and family in Ocean City, Maryland. One of her greatest joys was attending the annual Crystal Spring Camp meeting, a tradition she began as a little girl and continued throughout her life. The fellowship and shared faith of the camp were a deep comfort and joy for her. Suellen’s life was one of quiet strength, heartfelt service, and deep love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Lynn (Gary) Minadeo; sons, Douglas (Maureen) Springer and Daniel (Karen) Springer; daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Braun; grandchildren, Jamie (Tom) Gould, Michael Petti, Maria Petti, Ashley (John Mark) Dorough, Justin Minadeo, Tiffany Springer, Heather Springer, Kim (Joe) Fink, Joe Lucas, Jeremy (Ashlee) Springer, Kristina (Jeff) Misley, Steven Springer, Danielle Springer, Brandon (Rachel) Springer, Dean Springer, Kayla Braun (Michael), and Jordan Braun; great-grandchildren, Addison, Genevieve, Clara, Emilia, Elizabeth, Frances, Charles, Moses, Zion, Richard, Savannah, Alexis, Jaiden, Delaney, Penelope, Declan, Jacob, Dominic, Savannah, Colton, Kaiden, and Riley; sister Ann (John Rodger) Akers, sister-in-law Jill Salkeld, brother-in-law Jon Sertway, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Fran” Springer; her infant daughter; parents, Edgar and Lillian Salkeld; brother, Todd Salkeld; and sister, Elaine Sertway. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday October 25, 2025 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
