Theodore C. Dust Sr.

Theodore C. Dust Sr., age 76 of Mentor, Ohio, passed away peacefully early morning on October 2, 2023 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Euclid, Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born in St. Louis, MO to Theodore Clement Dust and Dorothy Geers on December 20, 1946. Ted graduated from St. Mary's High School, St. Louis, MO in 1964. He briefly attended St. Louis University before entering the Air Force. Ted went on to further his education at Lakeland Community College, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University earning an MBA degree. His professional career took him to many different cities, states, and countries, with American Hospital Corp., Picker International, and finally with Bausch & Lomb as Director of Global Product Support in St. Louis, MO. Ted enjoyed many activities and was always ready to experience a new adventure traveling anywhere in the world. In his late 60's he started piano lessons and loved every minute of musical expression. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching movies. His real passion was classic cars and collected many different models of cars and years starting with his first car at age 16 and ending with 30+ cars in various states of completion. His hobby led to forming many friendships and opportunities for travel to many different states to pick up cars. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen of 42 years, his son Theodore Jr., his daughter Angela (Heath) Hastings, stepsons Timothy (Melissa) O'Neill, Brian (Amy) O'Neill, along with grandchildren, Sheridan Wade, Mackenzie O'Neill, Chloe O'Neill, Andre Mullin, and great-granddaughter, Kylie Penny, and many personal friendships with others in the auto repair industry and his weekly breakfast group at Panera. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center. His funeral service with be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the funeral home, with graveside services to follow at Mentor Cemetery in Mentor, Ohio.
