Virginia "Ginny" (nee Beigie) Raphael

Virginia “Ginny” (nee Beigie) Raphael, age 93 of Mentor on the Lake, passed away on May 10, 2023 at her residence. She was born February 2, 1930 in Cleveland, OH, the sixth of eleven children Virginia’s best accomplishment was her unconditional love and support for her family and friends. Even though her husband was her third fiancée, she always said she married the love of her life. As testimony to that, she never dated again in the 36 years he’s been gone. Virginia loved going for rides with her children and grandchildren to look at the fall colors and Christmas lights. She enjoyed sharing stories about her life with her family and may have been the originator of TMI. She is survived by her children, Keith Raphael, Debbie (Mike) Hanerty, Rose (Allen) Nells, Catherine (Frank) Fioritto, Rebecca (Joe Lardner) Hutchinson and Robin (Rick) Lewis; Her grandchildren: Chelsea (Richard) Legan, Megan Raphael, Molly (Nick) Bader, Jim (Bobbie) Compton, Lisa (Jeremy Henderson) Compton, Christine (Keller Wolfe) Raphael-Wolfe, Mario (Katie) Fioritto, Victor Fioritto, Frisco Fioritto, Melanie (Charles) Gery, Dale Hutchinson, Makala (Nick Yurko) Lardner, Dylan (Paige Allen)Addison, Haley (Kristy) Granata, Jessica Lewis and Kylie Raunegger; Her great-grandchildren: Wyatt Legan, William and Andrew Bader, Blake, Summer and Carter Compton, Noah Henderson, Hannah Raphael, Riley, Cameron and Natalia Fill and Michael Raphael-Wolfe, Hunter and Hattie Fioritto, Ameliyah Fioritto, Collin, Connor and Skylar Gery, Alex and Axel Hutchinson, Brayden Yorko and Grayson and Aria Addison; Daughter-in-law, Susan Netherton; Her best friend for almost 50 years, Ida Weaver, and Mr. Rogers, her constant companion and beloved rescue cat; she is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis Beigie and Sally Boehnlein and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Raphael, and grandson, Michael Fioritto. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm., on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. A funeral service will be held at 10 am., on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bedford Heights, OH.
