William "Billy" P. Penny Jr.

William “Billy” P. Penny Jr., 57, of Mentor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 31, 2025. He passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 27, 1968, to William and Carol Penny (nee Grill) in Bellefontaine, OH and grew up in Willoughby, Ohio. Billy graduated from Willoughby Tech in 1986 and worked for Classic Chevy in the Parts Department, Swagelok as a machinist and Amazon in the warehouse. While working out at the gym, Billy met the love of his life Jennifer (Hall) Penny in 1994, beginning a love story that lasted 31 years. Jennifer and Billy went on to get married in 1998 and have 3 beautiful children. In 2023, Billy purchased his and Jennifer’s dream property that allowed them to have their horses and dogs in a place they and everyone could enjoy, including Sunday night family dinners. But as much as Billy loved Jennifer, he loved and was so proud of having and being a father to his 3 children, which were his pride and joy. Before his passing and just weeks before his death, Billy gave his life to the Lord on his front porch with his wife by his side. Billy’s love and dedication to the Lord, his word and his commands are of great comfort to his family in this time of immense sorrow. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4) He said to me, It is done, I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” Amen (Revelation 21: 6-7) Survivors include his wife of 27 years: Jennifer (Hall) Penny; children: Kirsten, Jamie and Shane Penny; mother: Carol (Grill) Penny; mother-in-law, Linda Hall; sister-in-law, Stephanie (David) Thompson; many family and friends and furry friends: horses - Secret, Lily; dogs - Parker, Scarlet, Ruger; cats - Scarlet and Clarke. Preceding William in death were his father: William P. Penny, Sr. and father-in-law William F. Hall. A celebration of William’s life will be held at a later date.
