Dealing with the sudden passing of our Granddaughter was very stressful. Jason, was very compassionate and always available when we had a question, needed advice or just “hold our hands” during this difficult time! He made suggestions and recommendations that made the process a little easier as we were planning. The night of the service Nick was the person on sight, he stepped in when needed, he made sure that the evening went very smoothly. Everything was handled with dignity and grace. The refreshments were beyond what I imagined them to be. The entire staff were kind, respectful and helpful, and did their very best to assist us in our time of grief. My mom had been under hospice care for 4 months and when she finally passed, the staff at Brunner Funeral home was very responsive to securing her body and setting up an appointment to make arrangements. My family met with Chuck Brunner and walked us through what was available and because we had a tight budget to work with, made sure we had choices we were comfortable with and stayed close to budget. The staff was very supportive the night of the viewing and the next day at church and the cemetery. I would highly recommend their services.

I want to personally thank Chuck for his patience and comfort during the loss of my dad. The entire process from start to end, he made more seamless and answered all of our questions. The staff took time not only before but also after the service to ensure all needs were met and we were satisfied. It was a difficult time but this team made us have more peace of mind. I can’t say enough great things about Brunner's and all the staff. I lost my son unexpectedly to an overdose in November 2023 and from the moment of first contact with Brunner's, I knew my son and my family were in the best of hands. They are kind and compassionate and you can tell they genuinely care. No matter what time I reached out to Brian with questions, he would always respond back very quickly. They take as much time with you as you need and you never feel rushed. They truly care. As far back as I can remember, my family has used Brunner’s and now I truly understand why. Losing someone we love is never easy, but knowing they and their loved ones are in the best care possible makes getting through the process so much easier.

If I could give Brunner Funeral Home more than 5 stars I would without hesitation. Chuck and Shawn and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and considerate. We had a lot of small requests and tiny details that we wanted for my grandfather’s funeral and Chuck was more than willing to help every time. Everything was so perfect that we have no complaints. Brunner Sanden Deitrick handled our mothers funeral arrangements that she had pre-planned many years in advance. They assisted her with her planning and kept detailed records of what she wanted. Sadly we needed to contact them in February 2023 as it was time to implement her planned wishes. From the minute Brunner was contacted they were courteous and compassionate. No high pressure to up sell us beyond what mom wanted. Calling hours went smoothly as was the funeral the next day. The entire team at Brunner was a pleasure to work with, despite the sad circumstances.

My family and I would like to thank the Brunner team, especially Brian Deitrick for helping us cope with and navigate through one of the worst times in our lives. We lost my mother on New Year's Eve. For 30 years, she planned on donating her body to the medical school at Case Western Reserve. All the paperwork had been signed, witnessed and notarized. She died at 8:10 pm. I was informed at 10:30 pm that her generous donation would not be accepted. I called Brunner's and left a message asking for help. Brian called me minutes later. We immediately had a plan in place and my mother was placed under the care of Brunner's staff within 90 minutes. I don't know what my family would have done without Brian and others at Brunner's. They made losing a loved one a tolerable experience and I know my mother would have been pleased. She was treated with dignity and respect. Thank you. Stephanie Anne Hale

Clean home. Respectable workers. They did great at honoring my loved one who passed. The makeup was fantastic as well. They worked with us on the payment and although we didn't have enough money up front they still gave my loved one the funeral he deserved.

Brunners handled my father’s funeral 12 years ago (2010).Being from Mentor I have had family and friends use Brunners for their loved ones. I have always been impressed with all the people working there. They always go above and beyond your expectations. Mom was so pleased with how they worked with our family with Dads accommodations that we went to pre-plan my Mom’s funeral in 2015. We did not prepay, but we had what my Mom wanted, which was very similar to Dads. My Mom passed January 13th 2022. Jason Sanden was our Director. Jason is a very compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. Nick was also very helpful with taking care of all our requests, which had to be adjusted as we came closer to the day of the Funeral. Nancy was awesome getting us organized after the funeral with cards from flowers and essentials from the day. The Family of Brunners Sanden Deitrick are in a class of their own. As I have repeatedly said, and my Mom also expressed, “They are a top notch organization.” There is no place better to take care of your loved one. Our family has always used Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home for our loved ones. We appreciate the compassion and support given to us by all the staff. On our most recent loss of our brother, Jordan took great care in comforting us and assuring us that our brothers final wishes were carried out. She handled everything , taking the burden from us. Nick helped at the funeral and gravesite seeing to everything on that end. Even after the service, Maria has called to see how we are doing and let us know that they are still there if we need them. Chuck Brunner, family and staff are the best. When my dad passed away, the Brunner’s arranged for a Marine Color Guard to be present at his service. My mom recently passed away and we were worried about having a service in these Pandemic times. Chuck, his family and staff stepped up and gave my mom a very nice and respectful service. The Brunner’s have kept in touch with us long after the services to see how we are doing and to extend their continued thoughts and prayers. After my husband's sudden recent passing, I wasn't sure where to start to plan for his funeral. We had recently started having these types of conversations but had not made any definite decisions. We are members of St. Mary's Church and Brunners is just several doors down from our church. I decided to call them. It was one of the best decisions I made throughout this overwhelming time. My daughter and I met with Jason, and he immediately put us at ease. He explained to us that he would guide us through this process, and we would take it a step at a time. And he did. Jason assured us that we could do a service my husband's way and not the traditional ways of the past. Jason guided us through the decisions we needed to make and let us know those that could wait. I had an amount I needed to stay within, and Jason was extremely understanding and helpful in helping us to stay within that amount without pressuring us to go over our limit. And for that I am most appreciative. My husband was a simple kind of guy. The service that Jason helped us plan fit perfectly with what my husband would have wanted. It was simple yet comforting. Nick was our director, and he was fantastic too. He also put us at ease during the visitation, mass, and time at cemetery. He never rushed us during any of our time. My family and I were very pleased with Brunner's. They definitely care about helping families during one of the worst times in their life without added pressure.

From 4:30 a.m. on April 16, 2022, when my wife Diana passed away and the Brunner team arrived to transport her to the funeral home, to our final visitation, my family and I were comforted immeasurably by every person with whom we had contact. Every detail was handled professionally. Every communication was compassionate, and no detail was overlooked. The assistance of Funeral Director Jason Sanden, from start to finish, and his handling of post funeral details was an added blessing and a major relief. We have been doing business with Brunner's since 1976. Planning a funeral is never easy, and the staff have always been kind, empathetic, and professional. If needed they will handle many of the smaller details for you and make sure that you're fully informed and nothing is overlooked. Most recently we worked with Chuck Suhar on pre-planning for my ill brother. He was incredibly helpful in ensuring that we understood the process while also helping us keep the expenses within our budget. When my brother passed we worked with Jordan Stills on finalizing the arrangements. Even through the pandemic Jordan made sure that the funeral was handled with dignity and respect, and that all the details were handled as we had planned.

The staff at Brunners Sanders Dietrick was so professional and kind. My association with them started with Chuck S when I made pre-paid funeral arrangements for my mom. He was excellent at explaining everything to me and it was a great feeling to know that everything would fall into place when needed. When my mother passed, the staff, starting with Jeff who picked up her body from the nursing home, was so kind and helpful. They all treated her and my family with ultimate respect and care. Our funeral director Nick E was always on hand to answer questions during the whole process, and Chuck B and Shaun B were so kind during the funeral and internment. They were very accommodating to my sister who is disabled. I can’t say enough good things about these fine people. They made a sad situation stress-free for me and knowing they were there was such a huge load off of me while I dealt with the grief of losing my mom.

Sitting here heartbroken writing this, it's been 5 1/2 years since choosing Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home. For the second time we have made the right decision. As you suffer from the grief of your loved ones passing you shouldn't have to worry about details and if everything's been done. You don't have to with BSDFH. That is only one of the many reasons why they are a pillar of the community. They care and you feel their care for you and your loved ones. BSDFH takes care of you like you are part of their family. Professional, genuine and a class act. The atmosphere of the viewing rooms are bright and friendly. The Sympathy Store has anything you could want to make your loved ones funeral exactly the way you want it. The reception center is elegant and affordable. Thank you for the wonderful service that we received for the funeral of my mother, Christine Zahurancik. Nick Eskew, Chuck Brunner and Shawn were so kind and helpful during the planning, viewing and funeral service. Chuck Suhar was a tremendous help in the pre-planning guidance. Everyone helped to make a difficult time easier. They helped us celebrate her life and love. I will forever be grateful to Nick, who allowed me to tuck in her casket blanket at the closing. I used to help her get ready for bed every night at the nursing home, so this was especially fitting for me to do it one last time. God Bless you all.

I have to say Jordan and her team at Brunner's did an amazing job and helped our family tremendously as we made arrangements for my mother. She helped my family with every detail of my mothers service and burial, she walked us carefully through all the steps and what needed to be done. We didn’t worry about anything concerning the arrangements. She held a truly beautiful tribute to my mother. I felt Jordan and her team were compassionate and caring and worked hard to make every detail special. I had so many people come up to me after the service and tell me how great my mother looked and how beautiful the wake and funeral arrangements were. We were truly blessed to have Jordan by our side during this truly sad time. Thank you again Jordan, you are a special person indeed.

This is a wonderful place during a time when we are literally lost in our grief. They handled the arrangements for my dad in 1981, my mom in 2004, and my husband in 2005. Wonderful, caring, and professional staff. Their attention to detail was so comforting and will never be forgotten.

The most understanding people to help you through such emotions times. I have had the use if their expertise twice and it was not a fluke that they were great the first time....they were fabulous the second time too!! No reason to shop anywhere else. The Brunner services are the best!!

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! My family grew up in Mentor back in simpler times, when there was no 615 bridge over the railroad tracks. I have 2 other sisters and 1 brother and we went to school with the Brunner children. Death is a part of life and from a young age I experienced many deaths of loved one's and family. Brunner's took care of many of my loved ones at their time of death. My father, my 2 nieces (Lauren and Kristen) and now the love of my life, my husband, Ed. I remember Chuck Brunner from school, he's just 1 year younger than me and he is just an awesome man. So kind, so soothing, so compassionate! He only knew Ed from me and Ed attending several funeral services for friends and family but he was so intuitive in helping me pick out cards, poems the casket. He knew what my husband would like and got my husband's personality perfectly. All of the staff at Brunner's were compassionate and never did they say that they couldn't do something. They made everything so easy for me in a time that was the worst time of my life! Everyone that attended the calling hours and funeral and reception afterward commented on how beautiful and nice it was. I can't thank the Brunner family enough for their care and concern for my husband, me and my guests. They are by far, the best in their field and I am getting ready to pre-plan my funeral at Brunner's! Thank you so much for taking such good care of my husband, me and all the guests that visited.

My mother died at home. The kindness and respect they showed to her and my family when they came to the house to get her will not be forgotten. Literally every move they made was told to us and explained before doing it. The dignity and respect she had in life was also given to her in death. Thank you all for all you have done for our family in this time of great loss.

I don't know where to begin with this review. We chose Brunner because my late husband knew the Brunner family (growing up in Mentor) and he made it known that he wanted his services there! I obliged. Jason met with our family to lay out the memorial. He was AMAZING. He got all of our hints of what we wanted for Kevin, he was extremely patient and offered some creative ideas for the service. I wanted Kevin's visitor's to stay around, have some food and drink, mingle and remember his legacy. Jason made that happen. He had Nancy coordinate the food and drink upstairs so visitors could mingle throughout. We had a LOT of people attend the services. Instead of having the traditional sign in book, Jason suggested little cards for everyone to write down a memory of Kevin. It was something I could read afterwards and I will cherish these memory cards. Kevin was known for giving everyone candy :). He loved Smarties and peppermints. Jason suggested that we have several bowls throughout the entire facility with the candy in them and a placard (please take one of Kevin's favorite). These little, inexpensive touches meant everything to our family. Brunner did an AMAZING job with Kevin's display surrounded by all of the flowers and planters. They truly encapsulated his life in the display. Nick was also very helpful with all of the details but especially with the music we played during his eulogy. There was one request that we found challenging and Nick made it happen. When we started the "process", Jason and Nick always told our family: "if you need ANYTHING, we are here for you!!!". They sure were! There were little things up to the day and afterwards that we needed and Jason and Nick came through (some required a trip to my home). So kind. So compassionate. I can't say enough things about the team at Brunner! It's been a month and I am still getting compliments on how wonderful everything was! Thank you Chuck for being a friend! Thank you Nancy for coordinating the reception, food, drink, flow upstairs, etc. And, thank you Jason & Nick for making this journey a pleasant one!

My mother passed away unexpectedly. We had no time to review and visit with any funeral home before her passing so we called around the day after she passed. After speaking with Chuck and others I knew we would be in good hands. I cannot say enough about the level of personal and genuine care my family was given by Brunners. They walked me through every step and were very understanding of time needs and coordination activities. My brother had passed away December 4th in 2021, it was a very hard time for me and my sister to deal with his passing. But my mother had prearranged plans for my brother. So my sister and I went to Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home we were met by a very kind man named Nick. The staff went out of there way to make sure we were taken care of in every way possible. Nick walked us through everything and at no point did we feel pushed in making plans for are brother. I was going to deal with another Funeral Home but after My experience with bruners I will be making my final plans with them. I can't say enough about Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home. At one of the most difficult times if my life, Nick and all of the staff at Brunners’s were so professional, warm and supportive. Never was I pressured in any way. They helped me plan my husband celebration of life exactly the way he would have wanted it to be. I unfortunately have had to make funeral arrangements several times at different places and Brunner’s is by far the most compassionate of all of them. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to make these difficult arrangements. While I was making the arrangements for my husband, I also made mine so my children don’t have to deal with it.

Then he took over and everything was handled exactly as was planned. Our family received the most wonderful, caring guidance from Chuck Brunner and his staff in planning our mom's funeral. Although her wishes were to be cremated, her urn, flowers and family memorabilia were arranged beautifully for visitation. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Any questions or changes we requested were handled very efficiently. We were never made to feel our requests were an imposition. The death of one's wife of 67 years is the most traumatic experience imaginable. We had preplanned our funerals but still I was quite nervous about executing the events that needed to occur. The process was made tolerable, even pleasant, by the handling of everything by the people at Brunner's. From the moment my two daughters and I met the administrator we were put at ease. His sensitivity, his knowledge, and his helpfulness were a blessing for us. The visiting hours took place in an attractive room that was arranged beautifully. Meeting our guests was a warm, supportive experience for the whole family. The Brunner's staff guided us through the evening's events. We entered the church for the funeral Mass and found a beautiful arrangement including a large photograph of my wife. The people from Brunner's assisted us at every opportunity. Finally, the internment was easy for us all because of the thoughtful handling by our funeral home administrator. Part of the arrangements had to do with coordinating with our Pastor. All of that was performed efficiently and with concern for our desires. No one wants to host the funeral of their spouse. But I can say with total sincerity and boundless thankfulness that having people like those at Brunner's makes the experience as comfortable as is possible. I must add that I am pleased that we had preplanned the funeral arrangements. That helped us focus on what needed to be done.

Jordan was exceptionally helpful with all the details and offered such gentle support during those rough days. I have had two experiences with Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home. Twelve years ago, my Dad passed away and we used the services of BSDFH. Second time was when my husband passed away very recently. Both of these times I found the professional, kind, caring, concern and support of Brian Dietrick and staff to be most comforting and helpful during the most difficult times of my life. Brian presented information to help me plan and make the best choices to fit my wants and needs in caring for my loved ones. I was also given telephone numbers of places to contact for informing Social Security of my change in marital status and how to contact the VA to apply for benefit aid. I was treated with respect and absolutely no pressure to purchase any services or items that I did not want or need. All that transpired was of my own choosing and I was very satisfied with everything done in caring for my Dad and my husband. I highly recommend Brunner Sanden Dietrick Funeral Home. I could not have asked for better treatment during such a difficult stressful time in my life.

I am so grateful for the kindness and compassion that Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home showed me during this difficult time. They were very accommodating and explained every detail of the process. They even checked in on me a couple of weeks later. They made this hard time much easier. I highly recommend them.

The period of time following my brother’s passing was very challenging and difficult. It was made far more manageable for our family given all of Brunners patience, kindness, help and support throughout the planning and absolutely beautiful service. From taking care of my Father's final arrangements in 1981 to taking care of my Grandmother's final arrangements on Tuesday. The staff always have been the most amazing people. There is NO ONE for me that tops Mr. Brunner senior. He held me at age 11 and told me it would be ok. Thank you all for incredible service to my family members!
